Here is a dog tag I found in a strange place!

We were cleaning out my deceased parents house and we came across this dogtag in a drawer in the basement. It was even more crusty when we found it as I had to scratch off some of the verdigris to be able to read it.

The interesting thing is that I think the fellow is still alive and living in LaSalle, Illinois. I've reached out but he is not responding so I guess it is a dead end.

Some research I've done shows that his parents (and maybe him also) lived in a house in Ladd, Illinois - the same house my parents bought in about 1971 and lived in for 3-4 years.  So that house is probably where the tag came from.

Not sure how it became so crusty and bent unless it was lost in the yard for 20+ years and my parents found it!
