Need help identifying navy woman

I have tried to find her on Ancestry.com, but with no luck. It is interesting that after she married, officials added and "X" to her service number.

Looks like she was from Clarksdale, Mississippi.

 

The following is from the Clarion-Ledger from Jackson, Mississippi, Sunday, August 20, 1944, Page 27:

 

Just as we promised several weeks ago, we are publishing here a complete list (as of Aug. 7th) of all Mississippi girls now members of the WAVES. We are indeed grateful to the local U. S. Navy Recruiting office for going to so much trouble to compile this list at our request. We are proud of the part our young women are taking in the war effort, .' and arc glad to have this opportunity to give due recognition to our Mississippi girjs... SPENCE, Mary Louise Clarksdale ...

Richard A. Darden, 81, formerly of 3438 Old Canton Road, died Feb. 20, 1988, in King's Daughters Hospital in Yazoo City. Services are 2 p.m. today at Wright &  Ferguson Funeral Home with burial in Lakewood Memorial Park. Visitation begins at noon today. Mr. Darden, a Sharkey native, had lived in Jackson since 1947. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church and the Brotherhood Class. He was educated in Clarksdale schools. He received a bachelor's degree in 1928 and a law degree from the University of Mississippi, where he was a member of Phi Delta Theta fraternity. He was a retired lawyer in the chief attorney's office at the Veterans Administration in Jackson, retiring in 1979 after 30 years of service. He is survived by a son, Richard A. Darden Jr. of Yazoo City; daughter, Mrs. Roger (Sarah) Williams of Enterprise, Ala.; and three grandchildren.
