TheCrustyBosun Posted October 17, 2020 Share #1 Posted October 17, 2020 I received this 1944 dated and sealed Cover, Protective, Individual as a unexpected bonus item along with a US Navy boatswains mate grouping. I’ve had it for about 12 years. I plan on posting BM1 Hayes’s grouping in the appropriate section. As I was gathering the grouping, I ran back across this item and became curious as to what the heck I had. Little content exists here on the forums regarding this item as there really isn’t much to it. It is, as I understand it, is a common, yet seldom used item that may still exist in mass quantity. Be that as it may, here is my small contribution to the topic. I for one, feel adequately prepared should I need protection from sprayed vesicants. As a matter of fact, these could make a come-back. Not a bad item to have, what with this COVID pandemic on!!! 🤪
