Hello

What period are these tabs?

I was thinking VN era or post?

theater made?

I could not find anything to compare them to.

Well, they appear to be Japanese made so I would guess mid 60’s to 70’s.  So yes Vietnam era.  They are good looking tabs.  Semper Fi - Jeff

Forgot to mention that the 3-1 stands for 3rd Battalion, 1st Marines, which belongs to the 1st Marine Division.  This unit served in Vietnam from January 1966 to May 1971 before relocating to Camp Pendleton California.   So they could be war time or just post war.  Do you know the Marine that owned them?  Hope that helps - Jeff

These tabs were a flea market pick-up.

No history with them unfortunately

These tabs are used by the Marine Corps League - Military Order of Devil Dogs - Some members have custom made red vests that the wear to meetings that have these patches, unit patches etc. - Not for Military Uniform wear. These appear from the 1980's or 90's
