sfcollector Posted October 15, 2020 Share #1 Posted October 15, 2020 I am not familiar with this Civil Affairs, Division Support Command (DISCOM), 4th Infantry Division team patch. With the South Vietnam flag, and in the style of more commonly seen Vietnam War-era "Civil Affairs Team 1st Brigade" patch, I was thinking this patch was made during the Vietnam War, perhaps in Japan. But with a merrowed edge and the pig tail on the back, it indicates to me either a fake or a reunion item. Can anyone educate me ? Is this patch an original Vietnam War era item, or a reproduction? Thank you for your help

FT.Monmouth1943 Posted October 18, 2020 Share #3 Posted October 18, 2020 IMHO it looks like a good, wartime Japanese made patch. Some from the period did have merrowed edges. - Jakob

USMarineCorps Posted October 22, 2020 Share #5 Posted October 22, 2020 It certainly has all the characteristics of a patch made in Okinawa, Japan. Hard to tell when this was made, but I would think it's OK.
