Early WW2 USMC M1 with EGA and NCO stripe

Hey there, its been a while since my last post so i figured i’d return with a bang. I apologize for the somewhat crappy photos i don’t have it in hand yet and I'm working off the sellers photos. Today i won one a early WW2 fixed bail which has a hole punched in the front for a screw-in EGA, which is no longer with the helmet however you can see the outline of where it once sat, in the rear it has what appears to be a NCO stripe (I’m not fairly familiar with helmet marking but i’m pretty sure thats what the stripe is indicating), the name of the Marine is stenciled and written inside of the helmet and there is remnants of tape on the inside. From what the seller said this came from the estate of a 1st Marine Division vet, i don’t know much about this Marine yet and i have asked for more information from the seller if possible.11CBDD8A-F9F2-4CA6-BDFD-01F5304A4D97.jpeg.c479a20d49671ebbf0196d7924f2f7e9.jpegB209C93E-DEF1-47EA-932C-F89B47806AF6.jpeg.08e9312597dcb99610a2d34bc538e926.jpeg903E6336-617D-47D5-A293-F0266FC2933C.jpeg.9b130165d2794f09f6696b6959db5e01.jpegBF84B711-2FEF-4C90-A360-39A7D1A4FD61.jpeg.07fd762e3fa5c34b373a56c4f2feb1a3.jpeg9FE04FBF-1205-4709-BC2C-9ED0F0A6911B.jpeg.14ac15be3ee7f152c6e3abcc22769b76.jpeg

Here she is, its even more beautiful in person. Below is new pictures and closeups of everything, including the EGA outline, remains of the NCO stripe, and the name inside. I’d really appreciate if someone could help research the name inside as the seller didn’t provide any more information and i’d really like to know more about the Marine.

Shouldn’t be too hard to find info on ancestry.

Are there 2 holes drilled, one in front and one in back?

Yes, have no idea why it was done but i believe it was done at the same time. And i would use ancestry but the information i need is stuck behind a paywall.

Looks like it's painted the same forest green color as one of my marine lids.

It is, and since you brought it up i’d like to bring up something interesting i noticed. In some parts of the shell, there is gray, blue, and even a different shade of green under the forest green repaint. This paint only appears on the outside of the shell excluding the SS rim and i believe it may be some sort of camouflage made using navy paint that ended up being painted over in forest green later on in its service by the Marine. I can’t be 100% sure of this and i’m not gonna mess with the helmet to chase a pipe-dream, but it may be possible being that this is a Marines helmet who would’ve had access to navy paints, and could of maintained a camo scheme until he began using a frogskin cover, repainted his helmet to cover up the damage sustained to the side (There is a few significant dents/damage which were painted over in forest green), or was required to paint it over at the wars end or in the post war period. Sorry for turning this into a large paragraph for a simple reply but i just get carried away with my thoughts and theories lmao, but let me know what you think
