This is the patch for the 16th Fighter Squadron, whether it is an original or not, that is for more knowledgeable types. The unit flew P-40's and P-51's in the CBI. Hope this helps some,

Here is an observation and correct me if I’m wrong, does the paint look like it was pushed to the edge of the cracks?

 

To me the cracks in the paint don’t look right.
