kammo-man Posted December 4, 2020 Author Share #79 Posted December 4, 2020 I can’t see any visible sewing lines from old garment but as it’s got the shop label the cutter made sure they weren’t going to be seen.Finer made than the more crude wide brim hat above. Both in 2nd pattern print.Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

aussie digger Posted December 5, 2020 Share #81 Posted December 5, 2020 Awesome hats there. Very nice having the tailor label in the boonie. Iv always thought those beach ball cut ones look kind of goofy but hey in Australian basic training I wore the wide brim bush hat so I’m not in a position to judge! kammo-man Posted December 20, 2020 Author Share #83 Posted December 20, 2020 Great hats Guy. Like I told you be email I have in all my years never even had a crack at a first pattern printed hat. And I have been actively looking, they are that rare. Your example is as good as they get ! The parts hat is one I was alluding to in an earlier post and tailor shop made and sold to whoever wanted one from floor scraps. I have had several over the years and are charming in there own way ! I have an original photo of one being worn that I will dig out and post.
Beau-Brummel Posted December 20, 2020 Share #84 Posted December 20, 2020 Thanks mate, I’m glad you like them. As you say, the scraps hats are charming for what they are but the early first patterns are quite something 😍🙏😉. Look forward to seeing that photo 👍

kammo-man Posted December 23, 2020 Author Share #100 Posted December 23, 2020 Here’s a story that’s typical of wartime WW2 men. a Finnish SS officer found a home in the US army after the war then became a Special Forces officer losing his life in Vietnam. Here he is in SS uniform then Tiger stripes also British WW2 Windproof camouflage. His name was Thorne.
