mohawkALSE Posted October 6, 2020 Share #1 Posted October 6, 2020 Decided to take a stab at this patch recently. They seller said it was for the Army Aviation Demonstration Team, which I would think was the US Army Silver Eagles, but they had their own patches, which I have 2 of. Anyone have any idea what it may be actually for or from? Looks to be 60s or 70s made. Maybe it isnt even US Army Aviation, but hope so.
itshistory Posted October 6, 2020 Share #2 Posted October 6, 2020 Seller is correct, this predates Silver Eagles. It's pictured in "Dancing Rotors" by Harry E. (Ned) Gilliand and was in use 1956. IH
mohawkALSE Posted October 6, 2020 Author Share #3 Posted October 6, 2020 I had a feeling you might chime in regarding an Army Avn patch. Thanks for the info, I will have to check out that book. Didn't realize there was other earlier demo teams. Guess it was a good gamble to snag this one.
