LEALTON Posted October 2, 2020 Share #1 Posted October 2, 2020 Hello, I was told this is a reproduction 2” navigator Pin. Any informed opinion would be appreciated. Thank You.
5thwingmarty Posted October 2, 2020 Share #2 Posted October 2, 2020 I don't see anything glaring that this is a repro. Might be slightly post WWII but that is impossible to say.
Allan H. Posted October 2, 2020 Share #3 Posted October 2, 2020 It is VERY uncommon to find a reproduction of a 2" wing. Usually, only theater made or high quality makers like Blackinton or Luxenberg would be worth a faker going to such trouble. This wing appears to be 100% original. easterneagle87 Posted October 2, 2020 Share #4 Posted October 2, 2020 I'll go with everyone else's comments as, good. Did you scratch test it to confirm it is sterling?
MikeK Posted October 2, 2020 Share #5 Posted October 2, 2020 Great looking little wing. I'd have no problems with a WW2 vintage dating. Please DON'T perform an idiot test and deface/devalue it, especially when there's no red flags and there's a pretty obvious stamp STATING the basemetal material! I could not even begin to estimate the number of items I've seen vandalised by idiots who can't tell gold from brass or silver from zinc - or worse, don't realise they are "testing" the finish rather than the basemetal. pfrost Posted October 2, 2020 Share #9 Posted October 2, 2020 A REAL collector would just run it under a good steel buffing wheel and some Brasso and make that underlying metal SHINE! Thats what I always say! Its fine. Probably WWII/KW vintage.

The Rooster Posted October 5, 2020 Share #11 Posted October 5, 2020 Looks like an authentic WW2 Meyer wing minus the Meyer hallmark. Its got the right pin and the right sterling mark for a Meyer.
