Navy Surface Warfare officer & enlisted - swapped colors and patterns ?

Does anyone know why these badges have colors and patterns swapped? Is it a transitional pattern, an error, an experiment...?

Officer's sword and enlisted cutlass versus gold color (usually for officers) and silver (usually for enlisted). Same for the subdued version (brown & black).

All hallmarked with Vanguard V-21-N.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
Karol

These are copies made overseas...maybe Bahrain or somewhere else in the Middle East. The swords and cutlasses have never changed from the devices.

Thank you for the information. It's very interesting, I'll keep looking.
It seems that the copies are made very well. They look as if identical matrices were used.
