WW2 Navy Fireman's Jumper with ZIPPERS

Saw this jumper while I was out. What threw me was the zippers. Has anyone seen this type of modification? I've seen them on the edge of the sleeves and up under the arm pits, but never down the front. What cha think?

This was a very common modification to convert a jumper, into a civilian jacket. Done mostly in the 1950s early 1960s. So, while this jumper may have started life as a USN uniform, it was “Discharged to “Civie Street” to become a jacket.
