paul1440 Posted January 20, 2009 Share #1 Posted January 20, 2009 So I found a M1910 T-handle shovel for $25 at a local antique store but it needs some love. First someone in the past painted it with silver paint. Some remains on the metal and wood. Second there is some rust on it. What can I do to remove the silver paint w/o harming what remains of the original OD paint and the wood, and what should I do about the rust? Thanks in advance for your help. 72newport Posted January 20, 2009 Share #2 Posted January 20, 2009 Paul, I recommend a product called Motsenbockers Paint and Varnish Removal Gel, I have used this to uncover insignia on helmet shells and liners with excellent results and its easy to control. Good luck, Mark
