CoastieQM Posted September 7, 2020 Share #1 Posted September 7, 2020 A request came into the CG Historian's office concerning this patch. The patch once belonged to the owner's grandfather who was apparently in the Coast Guard during WWII. She has no further information. We are having difficulty identifying it so any assistance would be greatly appreciated! Thank you.
Johnny Signor Posted November 8, 2020 Share #2 Posted November 8, 2020 Coast Guard "Usually" had "Coastal Patrol Squadrons" during WW2 era, so "possibly" 47th Coastal Patrol Squadron" an their aircraft were "usually" painted in bright colors as is the plane on the patch ........ Matt-M Posted March 25, 2021 Share #4 Posted March 25, 2021 The Latin translates into "Always Ready in the clouds" "Semper Paratus" is the Coast Guard motto and "In Nubibus" is "In the Clouds" so I would also say 47th Patrol Squadron. Great looking patch by the way! M.
