Hi all!,

Acquired this group recently, vet was with 104th ID 414th IR H Company. These are the highlights but he kept a ton of Howl’s and paperwork. The VIS35 has a piece of paper with a 104th ID SSI cut out of stationary for the sweetheart grip. The shoulder holster is also unique, not sure if it was something custom made post VE Day or something that could be made during the war for a German soldier. The Dryese pocket vest pistol is also an neat little piece.  All in all a group I was more than happy to add to my 104th ID collection!

Hope you all enjoy and have a great Labor Day!

Man I’m surprised this didn’t garner more interest!

Very nice.

The holster for the Radom is typical of the type made for a captured pistol. Many were found with out holsters or replaced with one.The shoulder holster was a popular option. Many were made by a local craftsman from materials available.I call them cigarette holsters as I have been told by many vets they got this or that made for a pack or two of cigarettes.I have a small collection of the holsters.I had a friend talk me out of a Radom holster that was converted into a shopulder holster. The flap was cit off and a shoulder strap was added. The strap was actually a cut down 98k rifle sling. It was  a cool holster.

No offense, but this response struck me as interesting in its own right - maybe indicative of the era of social media / the need for views, likes, etc.

How are you gauging interest?  Not enough people commenting / telling you how cool your stuff is?

I’ve noticed a bit of a phenomenon during the Covid / stay-at-home time:  It seems like people are getting saturated with screen time.  I wouldn’t take it personally, I just think folks are getting numb to content to some extent.

It’s all starting to look the same...🙃

I think you have a fantastic pistol there, pretty interesting to see with the emblem in the grip like that! Probably a true "one of".

Any idea what unit the German dogtag is from, and does it correspond with units the 104th was up against?
