I’m awaiting the arrival of this Society of the Army of Santiago de Cuba medal.

Awarded to Harald Christensen No. 691.

I was under the impression that the gilded medals was for officers. But I’ve seen several gilded to enlisted personnel.

This is what I’ve learned so far. Approximately 2700 was member of the society. Society members could buy this medal in three versions. Gold with enamel, silver with enamel and bronze.

Well, I’m trying to find all available informations on Harald (or Harold) Christensen who was born in Denmark, supposedly in 1862.

Pat Testa has been so kind to look up Ancestry.com. He has found a Harold Christensen who served in the Spanish-American War and the Philippine Insurrection (B/23rd Infantry).

I would like to be 100% sure that this is the right guy.
Does rolls for this medal exist? Where could I look for more info?

Hope you can help me.
