doyler Posted November 8, 2025 #376 Posted November 8, 2025 Propper is a prime military clothing maker. Recall they started business in 1967 with a contract for trousers. Many surplus stores carry Propper made items and sell over runs of the clothing and Propper produced/produces items for the civilian surplus sales. The label is more or less a generated item and not an official contract era label as no DSA number or date and these companies often put in bogus contract labels in the berets and boonie hats and caps. This is also made of Sateen cotton and not ripstop. OG 107 is typically the Olive Green cotton fatigue designation. This to me is a PX or private purchase cap. I have something similar the surplus stores sold during Desert Storm with EGA in the Desert Camo chocolate chip pattern. They were not authorized or issued during DS but tolerated (on some level) for wear

McLenn2025 Posted January 13 #385 Posted January 13 After confirming on this forum, that it is an original, I wanted to show you my patched L Company Ranger ERDL jungle jacket named to SSgt Howard Dobbs :) A huge thank you to @triplecanopy, who provided me with a picture of SSgt Dobbs from shortly before he left Vietnam as well as some information on him. According to triplecanopy, Dobbs continued to work as a Ranger instructor at Fort Benning in the 1970s. This is the link for the original thread on this jacket: https://www.usmilitariaforum.com/forums/index.php?/topic/416444-erdl-101st-ranger-real-or-not/ Hope you enjoy the pictures :)) 20260113_120025.heic
