KASTAUFFER Posted August 19, 2020 Share #1 Posted August 19, 2020 I thought I would post these photos in this section rather than the Photos section because the original photos are super clear and show the wings and his squadron insignia clearly, 2nd Lt Elmer G. Rhenstrom flow in combat with the 95th Pursuit Squadron , 1st Pursuit Group in the closing months of the war, He earned the Silver Star on November 8, 1918 for shooting down 2 Fokkers and destroying a German artillery group. You can clearly see his bucking mule pin! !!!! WANTED !!!! WWII Prisoner of War items : Medals, Mail, Diaries, Photos, Documents, Scrapbooks + More WWII Naval Aviation Groupings : Medals, Documents, Scrapbooks, Photos, Flight Logs, Flight Jackets + More

Escadrille Posted August 20, 2020 Share #3 Posted August 20, 2020 Outstanding photos. Here is an image of a 95th pin from Meredith Roberts of the 95th Aero. He was one of the last 5 pilots posted to the squadron and achieved 1 victory. I have been trying to determine when the pin dates to (1918 - ?) and the photos of Rhenstrom help as I do not have a photo of Roberts wearing this.
