I believe, one of the more attractive society medals with fine enamel and surmounted by a well struck eagle. Sadly they are not individually attributable. This one is from the estate of Naval Academy graduate, ships commander and Navy Cross recipient Harold E. Cook.
The Order was established in 1899 in New York City by Lieutenant Walter J. Sears, USN and charter members included Colonel Theodore Roosevelt, then Governor of New York, and elected as the Order's first president. Membership in the Order rose to 1,200 members and it was active apparently through WWI. It was not a hereditary society and died with its membership.

That is a really fine example.  This is the first time I am seeing one in color.  I've only ever seen them in b/w photos.
