That wool shirt though is of WWII era, most likely the son's? That WWI mounted canteen cover is somewhat of a rarity, especially with an intact leather strap. Is a canteen cup included as well? I see it has the two sets of three holes in the sides of the brim for the Wilmer Eye Shield. I thought there was evidence the Wilmer helmets were issued after the Eye Shields were removed? Oh, ok i have a British helmet from ww2 that has the three holes which mean not combat suitable. I didn’t know that about the larger holes and face shields, guess I learned something.
