Salvage Sailor Posted August 16, 2020 Share #1 Posted August 16, 2020 Aloha Everyone, I've seen this mural several times over the past two decades and finally took some detailed photos of the artwork during a recent building renovation. The mural was painted in the 1980's in a large stairwell in one of the older motor pool buildings at Fort Shafter, Hawaii (It was the repair shop for the 11th Tank Company in the 1930's and is now part of a transportation outfit.) At one time the building housed part of the 29th Engineer Battalion (Topographic) and specifically one of it's main components..... The 595th Engineer Company (Cartographic) Activated 16 April 1980 at Fort Shafter, Hawaii Inactivated 15 August 1988 at Fort Shafter, Hawaii .....and here is "DA MAP" painted by a 595th Sp5
