595th Engineer Company (Cartographic) Mural "DA MAP"

Aloha Everyone,

 

I've seen this mural several times over the past two decades and finally took some detailed photos of the artwork during a recent building renovation.

 

The mural was painted in the 1980's in a large stairwell in one of the older motor pool buildings at Fort Shafter, Hawaii (It was the repair shop for the 11th Tank Company in the 1930's and is now part of a transportation outfit.)  At one time the building housed part of the 29th Engineer Battalion (Topographic) and specifically one of it's main components.....

Activated 16 April 1980 at Fort Shafter, Hawaii

Inactivated 15 August 1988 at Fort Shafter, Hawaii
