kfields Posted August 12, 2020 Share #1 Posted August 12, 2020 I picked up this large (8x10) original image glued to cardboard. Fortunately it is marked on back although the last name ends in a scribble. It is marked: General George H. Harris(?), Camp Ordway, VA. , May 26, 1915. He appears to be a rather "aged" one star General. Thank you. Kim p.s. the white spot in the middle is also in the image.

kfields Posted August 12, 2020 Author Share #3 Posted August 12, 2020 That could be but I can't find a WW1 era general by that name.
Dirk Posted August 13, 2020 Share #4 Posted August 13, 2020 The caption refers to George H. Harries , Maj Gen. at the time head of the D.C. National Guard....he is the General wearing the service cap https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/George_Herbert_Harries
kfields Posted August 13, 2020 Author Share #5 Posted August 13, 2020 Thanks Dirk...you nailed it! Of course I highlighted the wrong gentleman. Here is Gen Harries. I also blew up his collar insignia which appears to be "DC". Kim

kfields Posted August 13, 2020 Author Share #7 Posted August 13, 2020 Here's a close-up of the fellow front & center. I THINK he's a one star general but maybe a Colonel? Also looks like he has the DC insignia on his collar too. Kim
