Reforger Posted August 12, 2020 Share #1 Posted August 12, 2020 I was very happy when I recently came across this dog tag belonging to a female seaman in the Coast Guard Women's Reserve (known as SPARS). I was actually not even aware that women served in the Coast Guard in WWII until I saw this tag. With peak strength during WWII being only around 11,000 SPARS, this is what I would call a rare and unusual dog tag. I couldn't find a photo of her, but I did find a newspaper clipping. Enjoy.
