[emoji45]    Awesome find! If anything I would get the sludge out of the cans and resin them from the bottom. This will prevent any more corrosion and make a great display item. phantomfixer Posted August 12, 2020 Share #5 Â Posted August 12, 2020 way cool! I would leave it sealed, even spoiled...having said that...the money is in the accessory packs

rtd_sf_eng Posted January 3, 2021 Share #9 Â Posted January 3, 2021 If you do decide to open the case and some of the cans, don't open the ones that are bulging as the food has fermented and methane gas has built up (voice of experience).

mrrm Posted March 6, 2023 Share #11  Posted March 6, 2023 Looking back at this thread, do we know if this was left sealed or opened?  What kind of value on a sealed case such as this?
TexRdnec Posted March 6, 2023 Share #12  Posted March 6, 2023 the sealed case is worth around $1100. the complete meals where all the cans and package are still nice are around $100. the accessory packets by themselves are worth about $
268th C.A. Posted March 6, 2023 Share #13  Posted March 6, 2023 I had a case of 64 dated rations, you could tell from the dark spots on the case some had started to leak, I opened it and took out the bad cans, I opened the cans from the bottom leaving all the nomenclature on the top, Washed out the cans, and left the ones that were ok. There were two that were totally bad. There was little but the accessory pack, spoon that were salvageable. I still have a couple of the rations and the outer case. Most I sold or traded to other collectors. I kept the "Ham & MF ers" LOL My opinion is open them and save what you can... one bad apple will spoil the whole bunch. Good luck in your endeavors. There yours.
