digi-shots Posted August 11, 2020 Share #1 Posted August 11, 2020 Is there anything that can be learned from an individual’s pay record? Would a soldier be assigned to a unit/division based on where he enlisted.... would he stay with same unit for the duration of the war? I have a pay record for a soldier from Conway, S.C. that I know enlisted April 29,1941, entered “foreign service” April 30, 1942 and was discharged June 1945 as a Tec5. Is it strange that his pay entires stop at Feb 1944 but was’t discharged for another year? The $2.60 insurance was increased to $6.50 in March 1943. Would a promotion cause your insurance deduction to go up? I have no idea what the Compulsory allotment deductions could be. There is a notation on the inside cover page: Compulsory Allotment class “F” $22.00; plus additional pay for Foreign Service but no amount given - just a date. Thanks for looking.
