It was issued a reprieve from its trip to France.

It will be staying in the States.

Saw this one on eBay! Looks like a nice salty lid with great research potential. The way that Mr. Skeels put his name on the liner is neat. Can’t wait to see what you find through research. The corrosion is interesting as perhaps he was near the ocean for a good bit. Thanks for sharing Rooster.

Im thinking it looks like basement mold etc.. unless the guy ends up being a PTO vet. Its one or the other..

Burning Hazard

Nice set. I agree with the others, looks like poor storage conditions got to the helmet; the leather liner chinstrap is fossilized onto the liner and will likely break if moved.

Yes it sure does look to be that way. This ones going to reside upside down in the box.

I'l check the chinstrap and if it is like you are thinking, I'l leave it alone.
