Picked up this grouping today! I apologize for the not so nice pictures. The Ike jacket had the ribbons and glider wings taken off and put into a display case with couple of newer medal replacements.

The patch with the 1 on it, in the first photo is ROK / South Korean Army 1st division.

This is a nice and interesting group. I suspect that this man had service in the ETO at the very end of WWII, perhaps as a glider man (although with no CIB and no campaign stars, he saw no combat). Following his discharge from the Army of the United States (AUS) on 20 Feb 1946, he immediately re enlisted in the Regular Army on 21 Feb 1946. He apparently then went to jump school, and back overseas to Germany for occupation duty w/ the 508th (the 508th stayed in Germany until December 1946). Ultimately he was discharged from the 505th. I think the Ike probably had jump wings vice the glider wings and the presence of the M42 jackets in a group of this vintage unusual, although they look like nice originals...

Would it be a unfavorable to reattach the 508th and 82nd patch to the m42? I also need some help identifying the Fourragère the grouping came with two of them. From What I could find the red and green Fourragère is for the 82nds involvement in the battle of the bulge.

I would display them framed with it but not reattached to it. I always imagine, what if someone found my stuff after I died. They might either not know I had altered it or, worse yet, might assume it was a trumped up set. Write up a card and put it in a pocket listing all that goes with the grouping.

Awesome grouping for sure. If only it could talk!

Thank you everyone for the replies! I will post pictures of the full display once I get everything framed up.

Per forum rules, a price must be publicly stated and this must be posted in the appropriate section if it's now for sale.
