mkite93 Posted August 7, 2020 Share #1 Posted August 7, 2020 Being the caretaker of this interesting medal I thought today was a proper day to honor his sacrifice. Today being national Purple Heart day and also being the anniversary of his death in a small town in France so far away from home. This medal I am still looking to uncover a story on but the town he was killed in thought enough of him to honor him specifically on their war memorial. And as a fellow forum member pointed out to me it appears they got the information about him directly off his dog tags. Hopefully a story turns up out of this town one day I’m sure someone’s remembers Sgt Scott. He was with the 5th Arm Div 46th Arm Inf.

smwinter207 Posted August 7, 2020 Share #4 Posted August 7, 2020 Wow, that is really cool. Great research. Strange that the WWII Memorial doesn't have him officially listed. Someone had to enter the remembrance.

mkite93 Posted August 7, 2020 Author Share #8 Posted August 7, 2020 Thanks for the reply’s. It is very interesting and maybe I can get something to turn up on him. I had emailed the town hall to the town in France the monument is some time ago but that was about the COVID was taking off in France so I will give it another shot.
