B-17Guy Posted April 28, 2014 #52 Posted April 28, 2014 Congrats on a fine wing badge and a fantastic group of items. That is probably about only the fifth or sixth F.H. Noble Naval Aviator wing badge that I have ever seen. Very, very rare indeed.
B-17Guy Posted November 30, 2014 #53 Posted November 30, 2014 I have been looking for one of these for a long time and this one came my way recently. It is really a stunning wing badge in hand. Judging by the pattern and findings I think this wing may have been made by F.H. Noble of Chicago in the 1920's. Best, John
bschwartz Posted November 30, 2014 #57 Posted November 30, 2014 Wow, that's a stunner John. Congratulations on finding that beauty.
skypilot6670 Posted November 30, 2014 #58 Posted November 30, 2014 That wing is Top Shelf,really nice. Mike
hink441 Posted November 30, 2014 #60 Posted November 30, 2014 Wow, that is a stunningly beautiful wing!! Crisp and sharp lines. Chris
rustywings Posted December 1, 2014 #64 Posted December 1, 2014 Beautiful Naval Aviator badge John! The "Rolled Gold" and "Noble" hallmarked badges certainly do look like they're from the same die.
B-17Guy Posted December 6, 2014 #65 Posted December 6, 2014 Beautiful Naval Aviator badge John! The "Rolled Gold" and "Noble" hallmarked badges certainly do look like they're from the same die. I just did detailed comparison of my Rolled Gold and FH Noble Naval Aviator wings and there is absolutely no doubt that they came from the same die. Best, John
BROBS Posted December 6, 2014 #66 Posted December 6, 2014 I was hoping for pretzels but these are even better! -Brian
mghcal Posted December 6, 2014 #67 Posted December 6, 2014 Great wing John thats by far one of the finest and rarest USN wings out there! Congrats!
B-17Guy Posted December 30, 2014 #68 Posted December 30, 2014 Thanks for all the compliments on the wing guys. Best, John
mghcal Posted June 4, 2017 #69 Posted June 4, 2017 I hope one of you were the lucky bidder on the Noble wing from the 1920s. $54 was an absolute steal!
doinworkinvans Posted June 4, 2017 #70 Posted June 4, 2017 Please post pics ....links are useless without them
B-17Guy Posted June 4, 2017 #72 Posted June 4, 2017 A rare wing indeed. That was a sleeper that went through un-noticed. Just goes to show that ebay is no judge of actual value, buyer got a killer deal! John
5thwingmarty Posted May 18, 2019 #73 Posted May 18, 2019 This one also joined my collection today. I haven't seen any modified Noble wings before.
