Misc from WWII Vet at Boy Scout Fund Raiser

Recommended Posts

Went to local scout yard sale they told me had already sold Grandfather's WWII footlocker so all I bought was 2 water glasses.  I was almost home and my Daughter (a scout volunteer) phoned and said the Grandfather had brought in a baggie of some misc VFW, USMC League Aux. etc pins.  Here is pics of what I bought.  Does anyone know what the 3 inch red, white and blue eagle is?  Also I thought the Amer Legion pin inside a dome of crystal or glass as well as the Marine Corps League Auxiliary Past President pin in gold with red stones and gavel on a chain were nice.  The little star with a 4 on blue is it Boy Scout?  I believe the EGAs are all different droop wing examples. (Not the broken hard plastic one).    Thanks for looking and any info or correction of my assumptions appreciated.  Richard

The star is Boy Scouts, indicating 4 years of participation. Not sure about the others.

It appears that you have 2.5 M1937 Enlisted collar EGAs and an earlier 1920's-1930's droop wing piece.

Nice find.

I tried to PM you but it does not work.  So --  I have sold you quite a few items, VN Camo, and you answer questions for me.  if I recall correctly.  Thanks for answering, if this is something you collect just tell me a very reasonable price and it is yours.  Richard

The pair of two metal EGAs (not the single droop wing) are actually M1920 pattern enlisted EGAs.

The Boy Scout service star is worn with different background colors -- yellow for Cub Scouts, green for Boy Scouts,  red for Explorer Scouts (now Venturers) ad light blue for adults.
