mmerc20 Posted January 17, 2009 Share #1 Posted January 17, 2009 I was just curious if anyone recognizes these wings. They were in a riker mount with a lot of WWII Navy items. The bottom feather on each wing is upturned and it measures 2 3/4" long. It's marked Gemsco NY. Mike
mmerc20 Posted January 17, 2009 Author Share #2 Posted January 17, 2009 here is the back It looks like the more modern Army pilot badge, but I didnt know if it was an early pair of wings or a sort of transitional between WWII and the current style. John Cooper Posted January 17, 2009 Share #3 Posted January 17, 2009 Looks like a Navy Wing with the anchor cut away... you can see part of the anchor at the bottom edge of the wings. John
trenchbuff Posted January 17, 2009 Share #4 Posted January 17, 2009 Must've been a Navy flyer who switched to the AAF and didn't want the anchor weighting 'em down.....or not.
mmerc20 Posted January 18, 2009 Author Share #5 Posted January 18, 2009 I don't know why I didn't see what it was before. Now that I look at it, it's pretty obvious. Thanks Mike
