Der Finn Posted July 20, 2020 Share #1 Posted July 20, 2020 Is this a M1909 or variant? Does not have a barrel plug and doesn't appear that it ever did. Couldn't find any markings on it, either. Need expert help from Forum members. Thanks in advance!
Okie96 Posted July 23, 2020 Share #2 Posted July 23, 2020 Hard to say. I’m no expert in holsters but looking at Mr. Meadows book it appears this is some variant of the fifth type holster for the S&W double action .38 revolver made between 1907 - 1911. From the pictures it looks like there was a plug and a US embossing but Meadows book does not show a right hand variant so I’m not sure what exactly to say about this piece. robinb Posted July 24, 2020 Share #3 Posted July 24, 2020 It's a very used and worn M3 holster for the M1917 revolver. Here's my 1942 dated example.
