phantomfixer Posted July 13, 2020 Share #1 Posted July 13, 2020 Was told this came off a battleship....one website shows this model as being used by the USN... In working condition...needs a cleaning...any Navy guys confirm it's use on ships 1930-1950s... Built heavy duty...weighs at least 4 pounds... 72psb Posted July 14, 2020 Share #3 Posted July 14, 2020 Better not clean or polish it.It would not be a salty surviving example of 100's used through out the fleet. Treat it like you would one of those M-1 things that millions were made.Just watch out for fakery! You know sawdust instead of genuine period bread crumbs.Use one of those fancy microscope thingies to look for the burnt gluten.😜 Just funnin' w/u. Neat example. I should have shown the back side where there is evidence of a fragment hole from a torpedo blast...the toast was lucky to survive that hit... No idea if it is actually from a battleship, but it sure looks like it belongs on one! Mikie
