JimD Posted July 11, 2020 Share #1 Posted July 11, 2020 This M1852 Navy Officer's Sword is marked Toledo Spain. I assume it is a relatively modern model, maybe VN or even later. Can anyone give me an informed opinion? And is the marking above "Made in Toledo" a particular manufacturer's mark? Thanks in advance, Jim
Tonomachi Posted July 11, 2020 Share #2 Posted July 11, 2020 The eagle symbol with H&H was used by the Hilborn-Hamburger Company out of New York. This symbol is seen on insignia use before, during and after WW2. I know nothing about swords but my guess is that H&H contracted out their swords to a Spanish firm.
