The Rooster Posted July 7, 2020 Share #1 Posted July 7, 2020 Greetings all. Is this a legitimate Heat Stamp? And what is with the seam crimp welds ? Has anyone seen this before? Is it because its an early helmet ? The helmet is a fixed loop.

twthmoses Posted July 7, 2020 Share #3 Posted July 7, 2020 Very interesting! I read it as 41CC 2!. Had it just been like 41C 2 it was undoubtedly an early war McCord stamp. But 41CC 2, very strange. Also if it should be 410C, there should not be a space + 2. You might have a little gem here! As for the front, would not put too much in that. But try posting images from the other side. Would like to see that side. And images of the bails too. Just to be on the safe side, a couple of images of the rim in the back.

Nickman983 Posted July 8, 2020 Share #6 Posted July 8, 2020 Heat stamp looks to be 41C0 2. I know some of the early McCords had funky heat stamps like that but I haven't seen enough examples of them to say for certain. Based on the style of the bails and the heat stamp I would think you've got a legit early production McCord.

cerick1450 Posted July 8, 2020 Share #8 Posted July 8, 2020 Hello I know I have seen similar before. I did a quick search, and only came up with this listing.. I believe it is just an early McCord number... Hope this helps.
