Is this a part of an ww2 airplane?

Today I found this peace of Aluminium near Omaha-Beach in Normandie. It obviously was in the water for a longer time and maybe it is an remain of an plane... I am not a collector of these things, so maybe someone can help me out.

Aluminum, the only sure way is to test it. 2024-T3 . 7075- T6 ?  5056 ? 2017 ?  6061? ( Marine grade, weld able). I believe from memory 2017 was the type most used back then but Skin and frames used different alloys. No rivets?

 I think you are mistaken about it having no rivets. I see holes in a row that look like they had rivets at one time. Look at pictures of the bottom of the tail horizontal rudder of a P-38. The bottom was a skid that could be replaced. I can't tell if the larger section is rounded or not.
