The SSM and PH are engraved. Also, look at the WWIVM. I started a topic on this awhile ago. GI Joe, Very handsome display. I was curious when you requested the replacement from the government and if you used the normal SF 86 process thru the Archives. I ask because I have a Great Grandfather in law whose medals I would love to replace but I thought I read that the DoD had stopped replacing WWI medals. Thanks so much for your time! gijoeonthego Posted January 4, 2022 Author Share #28 Posted January 4, 2022 I went thru the National Archives and the Awards And Decorations Branch out of Fort Knox, Kentucky. I haven't heard anyone stopping the issuing WWI Medals. It's possible because it over 100 years since the first WWI Victory Medal issued. Can you send me link stating the no longer issuing the older Medals. Good luck.
