Late-War RS SB Schlueter M1

My most recent M1 pickup, a late-war Schlueter pot that according to the configuration chart provided by Grant G. dates from mid to late 1945. It's in pretty good shape, and shows some wear towards the top. There are corporal stripes cut into the paint on the front of the helmet, but judging by the crudeness I'd guess it was done by a kid. 

 

Its rear seam, swivel bail, heat stamp 539A, manganese rim, OD 7 chinstraps with a steel hook and flat brass hardware.

 

Nothing terribly special but a welcome addition.

A nice honest lid. Congratulations on the pick up. I really like the patina on the helmet.

Is that a spot of blue on the top of helmet? Also OD3 Chin Straps on such a late manufactured helmet!? Interesting for sure! Nice lid, love the late war scheluters.

I have a late war RS SB maganese rim McCord with OD3 straps.

I don't think so, just a small amount of light green paint on the forward part of the helmet and it being especially worn on the dome area.

 

Are the straps OD3? I thought they're OD7. I took another pic with a black background if that helps.

Now i love the Shell, very nice! But the chinstraps hmmm 🤔 looks almost too good. Splendid condition. They look almost not used. Wonder why there is wear on the top (can see the copper alloy) on the buckle but not where the j-hook joins the buckle. Looks like the j- hook have never attached to the buckle, but somehow rubbing occurred on the top of the buckle?
