It just so happened that Phil's daughter mailed me more photo's of Phil while training stateside with his final crew.

This is a period proof photo of why that pocket is so high up there!!!

Phil,

You are fortunate to have such good photo coverage of Phil in his flight gear and clothing. Thanks for sharing.

I'm very fortunate to have gotten to know Phil's daughter.

She is finding these for me..

One other thing is this Nelson Crew photo.(Phil's original crew) It's not on the 384th website photo gallery. So I can add these to it. What is cool is that all the crew signed and put  their addresses on the back. Any chance somebody recognizes the squadron emblem on the tail???

Hello To All,

Here is an addition to my Phil display, A B-4 Life Preserver . This is the one I had asked about cleaning.

And as Dave had already pointed out, Phil is wearing a B-3 LP in the photo, I missed out bidding on one of those, But won the B-4.

I'll have to fix that when I get the B-3 to complete him.

I also put the shades on him for that Top Gun look!!!!!

Just an FYI.

Phil turned 100 today and from what I am being told, he had a great parade to honor him and the Mayor of The Dalles who attended, made it offically Phil Chaperon day in the city.

I should be talking with him later today when I get off work.

I'm not a uniform / clothing collector, but really enjoyed reading this thread.  Phil, also noticed the nice AWANA Grand Prix or Pinewood Derby race cars in the corner of the picture.  I have helped make a few of those in years past.  Thanks to all who contributed and best wishes Phil on your quest,

TSgt Phillip William Chaperon has left this earth at 0400 today.

He joins the Fioretti crew for that final milk run mission home!

Thank you my Friend. You were my window into the past.

God Bless You for your service to the Great Nation.

They say you die twice, Once when you take that last breath.

Then when the last person ,say's your name for the Last Time.

Phee will live for generations in my house.

He is known by all that know me. My Family and Friends know who Phee is.

My grandson's know his name and they say "Hi Phil" every time they come and visit and see my display!!!!

I will continue to Honor the Greatest Generation this Nation has seen.

For any who know a Vet. Call them. Talk to them.

They are fading fast, Don't miss your chance.

We need to keep the memory of them Alive!
