Hey guys, I was wondering if the tan colored suspenders are rarer than the regular green ones?  The seller also has the same color m16 magazine pouch.  Any info is appreciated.

I believe these have been discussed on this forum before, if someone can find and post the thread it would be helpful.

Tan LBE out there; suspenders, canteen covers (with the exemption of 2qt canteen covers,), pistol belts, mag pouches etc were never officially issued items.  Some were foreign contract items and some were bought by individuals and used operationally at different times but they were always a commercial item.  Same with the these items that were produced in black.  Dealers over the years have asked more or less for these items than standard OD often claiming they are something they aren’t.

Here is a link to a previous thread.  There is some spirited debate on here, and I don’t intend to stir it up again, but my belief is stuff that made it into the system (as discussed in this thread) are at most COTS unit purchases, and most happened post Gulf War 1.

To your original question, I don’t think New condition tan commercial suspenders or M16 mag pouches are rare, but if you could find some used ones attributed to a service member who deployed (wether private purchase or issued at the unit level) in my opinion that would be definitely an uncommon find and nice edition to a collection.

I picked up the Saudi canteen cover and ALICE pack. They are U.S. made with a DSA contract of 1976.

I wouldn't think these were used by U.S. troops in the kingdom but you never know.
