I picked this up the other day. I know it’s old but is this from the civil war like I was told ? Any and all comments are welcome.

Im thinking made after the CW.... I have a belt that's similar but with a steel buckle open face buckle. Thinking some one adapted the buckle to the belt

I'm thinking post civil war as well. Possible 1880-90 time period and while the belt plate and keeper are military I am thinking the belt was made up for civilian wear or at least state militia.

Do you have a photo of yours posted somewhere? I have been looking for something similar - cowboy-esqe with cartridge loops and open buckle?
