avigo Posted June 5, 2020 Share #1 Posted June 5, 2020 Was there a case made specifically for the Trench gun? If not, what cases were used by the military?
Doctorofwar Posted June 5, 2020 Share #2 Posted June 5, 2020 I am not aware of any case specifically made for US Military trench or riot guns. Bruce Canfield doesn’t mention one in either his US Infantry Weapons of WW2 or Combat Shotguns Book. There is also not one mentioned in the General Issue ETO vol 1 book. Although I have personally not seen it, I would think that a shotgun would fit in the leather M-1938 scabbard made for the M1 rifle if one were to carry a shotgun on a motorcycle or similar vehicle, and a weapons jump case (the rectangular folding canvas ones lined with felt) should also accommodate a shotgun if needed.
