Just thought it would be a good discussion.  These images were taken as they landed on the island of Angaur, Palau Islands, two days after the 1st Marine Div. landed on Peleliu.

Lots of camo helmets used by the 81st ID on Peleliu and Angaur! Wonder if any survived to today? Thanks for sharing those pictures!

BILL THE PATCH

There is a excellent you tube video called action on angaur it is really good and it shows lots of these helmets, actually I think they are stills from that movie. What other PTO units had camo?

I think probably more than we may think. It seems like a lot more common in the PTO than ETO.

Cap Camouflage Pattern I

At least a couple of the regiments if not all of the 27th Infantry Division made extensive use of camouflage painted helmets on Saipan.
