Infantry US army dress helmet, model 1881?

Recommended Posts

I am trying to figure out what this thing is exactly. I do not think it is 140 years old so is it a repro or something. If its the real deal how old could it be and how much would it be worth?

thanks for your help.

Eagle , side devices, plume socket and base probably real. Shell is a replica as well as the tassel. Looks like the helmet was assembled for a prop for a costume or play.

Seeking Model 1895 and 1902 Named Officer coats as well as Spanish American War Tropical Uniforms.
Also pre WW2 marine uniforms. Always pre-1945 Colorado National Guard Items wanted! Also seeking Rhodesian

Uniforms and Gear used by Americans in the Rhodesian Security Forces during the Bush War (Africa).
