Hi to all,

Are these original W.W.2 issued rough out service shoes? The only marking I see is its size (10) stamped on the inside shoe tongue. Thanking you all in advance and hoping to hear from some of you very soon.

Regards, juno-44

if im not mistaken, they should be marked on the side at the ankle with the date, maker, qm number and size. not saying they are reproductions. they look good but, those I have seen are marked in the fashion I mentioned.

Hi Costa,

Thanks for getting back to me. I see a faint white stamp on the inside of the left shoe. Very hard to see.

HERE IS SOMETHING ELSE I JUST NOTICED----------------- WERE YOUR PAIR ONCE 2 BUCKLE BOOTS WHERE SOME ONE REMOVED THE TOPS OFF?? in one picture of the back it looks to be uneven one side higher then the other from the center. maybe that is why the is no printed info at the ankle of the pair. sure, that makes cense. here is a 2 buckle boot with its markings------------------

Good eye Costa, from what I can see that definitely looks like a possibility. According the Shelby Stantons book, the double buckle boot was just the roughout boot with the buckles added on top.

Hi Costa,

Again thanks for getting back to me. The shoes never had tops as I see no stitching holes in them. Were all shoes stamped with QM markings?

You mention you see no stitch holes around the top, but they do look rather rough and uneven there from your photos and the rear reinforcement extends slightly above the top edge on the left boot. I'm with Costa, it looks like they are cut down from double-buckle boots. The good news is, with a pair of leggings over them, no one could tell the difference.
