Lancer-86 Posted May 22, 2020 Share #1 Posted May 22, 2020 Hey guys, Trying to put the finishing touches on a few mannequins. I have access to pineapple grenades, lemon grenades, and baseball grenades. I’m assuming the pineapple would be appropriate for WW1 and WW2, but what about korea and Vietnam? When was the lemon used? And when was the baseball used? Thanks guys
Lsparks Posted May 22, 2020 Share #2 Posted May 22, 2020 If I’m not mistaken the nomenclature of the baseball is M67, so it should make an appearance in Vietnam. You’re going down a rabbit hole. There are lots of small variations on “pineapple grenades” that are used to acsertain the production period or if it’s a repop. I don’t know them all. You’re right, generally speaking, pineapple in WWI and wwii. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Lancer-86 Posted May 22, 2020 Author Share #3 Posted May 22, 2020 You are correct, the m67. And the lemon is the m26. There are just the three basic demilled grenades available to me right now. The pineapple will have to encompass all of the pineapple-like variations between the two world wars, but did the lemon appear for Korea or were they still using the pineapple? Lsparks Posted May 22, 2020 Share #4 Posted May 22, 2020 My friend says the m26 came out in 1952. Used in KW through VN. US troops would have used French and Britt grenades some during WWI. Baseball is 1967-current and would have made first appearance during VN. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
