Hello,   I need help identifying this WWII US Army Distinctive Insignia DI.  Thanks.

This is the DUI of the First Medical Battalion. They were and still are the medical support for the 1st Infantry Division. Your DUI appears to be sterling and WWII vintage. I would guess that it is a PB Newcombe.

Thanks Allen, here is the ike jacket they are on,  double patched 1st div & 99th div,  medic's badge,  ETO ribbons.

I wonder if the soldier ever got the medals represented by his ribbons - most did not. He would likely have had a couple more, such as the WW2 Victory Medal and perhaps the Occupation Medal.

It is amazing how many 99th Division guys ended up in the 1st Infantry Division. Great Ike jacket.
