thanks to a heads up from a forum member I picked up this up !

222nd Field artillery 40th Division KIA may 1945 Leyte.

Found a picture of him online in what seems to be some camo ? Also same source states he was forward observer and spotter.

Small blackened machine engraved.

Interesting group, looks like he was killed pretty late in the war, and after the Phillippines had been re-captured. I'm guessing it must have been from guerilla resistance?

I figure that or mopping up operations on Panay Island area . When I can i will request IDPF that might hold some clues ?
