Bearmon Posted May 12, 2020 #1 Posted May 12, 2020 Are these WW2 or before or after? not marked sterling Thanks for looking
Reforger Posted July 10, 2020 #2 Posted July 10, 2020 Shold-R-Form Meyer insignia with a raised shield was used around WWII. So these are probably WWII era. However, Shold-R-Form insignia existed before and after WWII as well.

RobS. Posted July 11, 2020 #4 Posted July 11, 2020 The lower eagle is facing the arrow heads. They are not supposed to do that. I have heard of this, but never seen one. A rare variant. Called a war eagle. NS Meyer has made a lot of colonel's eagles, I don't think this is an accident. Rob.Sent from my moto z3 using Tapatalk
Allan H. Posted July 11, 2020 #5 Posted July 11, 2020 I am relatively certain that this style of eagle does go back to WWII. I have had some odd luck with this eagle. You can see in the photo, that there are six for the left shoulder and only one for the right. Not sure why I have had such bad luck trying to find mates for these birds. You will note that the right facing eagle faces the arrows. It is this way on all of the sets of this particular insignia. They also come in sterling and non-sterling varieties. Allan
S.ChrisKelly Posted March 30, 2023 #7 Posted March 30, 2023 Found these images of N.S. Meyer, shold-r-form:
S.ChrisKelly Posted April 6, 2023 #8 Posted April 6, 2023 I acquired these today. Can anyone give me any information? I won't load my post, because I'd like your observations, not my conjecture. They were sent as a "matched pair".
usmedalman Posted June 29, 2024 #10 Posted June 29, 2024 The pair are always sold as mirror images of each other. They are worn with the eagle facing forward.
Flashlarue Posted June 26, 2025 #11 Posted June 26, 2025 Would the pins marked Shold-R-Form with the reversed shield and marked Sterling also WW2?
knifeguy Posted June 26, 2025 #12 Posted June 26, 2025 I believe so. Others may know more and when they had been manufactured. Nice birds 😆
